Yamaha EF5500DE/D Generator

The Yamaha EF5500DE/D is a 5500-watt portable generator built on Yamaha's MZ360 engine, delivering full 120/240-volt dual-voltage output through a 4-prong outlet, which suits whole-circuit home backup rather than just smaller single-voltage appliances. A 30-amp RV outlet is also included. What dual voltage changes Running 120/240-volt power through the 4-prong connector lets this unit feed larger household circuits that a single-voltage generator simply can't reach, while separate dual GFCI 120-volt outlets add shock protection for smaller plug-in loads run at the same time. The RV outlet keeps it usable for towable campers as well as home backup duty. Safety and reliability features Should carbon monoxide levels climb too high around the unit, a sensor kills the engine on its own rather than just sounding an alert, and the GFCI outlets cut power the instant they sense a leak to ground. Oil running low triggers an automatic shutdown too, which is how Yamaha protects the MZ360 engine from damage during long backup runs. Common questions Can this power a full household circuit? Yes, the outlet delivers full 120/240-volt dual-voltage power rather than single-voltage output alone. Does it have RV capability too? Yes, a 30-amp RV outlet is included alongside the dual GFCI outlets. Is the engine shared with a smaller model in this lineup? Yes, it's built on the same long-life MZ360 engine design. New, with Yamaha's 3-year limited warranty.
