Yamaha 2020 Yamaha 15 HP F15LMHA Outboard Motor

No battery is involved in starting this 2020 Yamaha F15LMHA: a tiller motor rated 15 hp from two cylinders, manual pull-cord only, new, weighing 115 lbs. Carbureted at 362cc, it climbs to 6000 rpm at the top of its full-throttle range, with 5000 rpm at the bottom. Who it suits Skipping the starter motor, battery, and charging wiring keeps weight and complexity down on this version of the F15, which suits a boat where simplicity matters more than push-button convenience. Light enough to lift onto a transom, car-top boat, or small tender without a hoist, it is a common choice for owners who would rather maintain fewer parts. Fit check Transom height and shaft length need to agree before ordering; 20 inches is fixed here and cannot be trimmed around. Carbureted rather than fuel-injected, this engine benefits from fuel being stabilized or drained before any period of storage longer than a few weeks, to keep the carburetor clean inside. Living with a pull-start motor Expect a firm pull on the starter cord rather than a button press, and a cold engine may need the choke worked before it settles into an idle. Once running, the lack of an alternator-fed battery means no electrical draw to plan for beyond the ignition itself. Common questions Does it have electric start? No, starting is manual pull-start only. What steering does it use? Tiller. How much does it weigh, and what is the warranty? 115 lbs, with a 3-year warranty.
