VEGE Remanufactured Long Block Crate Engines 561

Unusually for this lineup, this 2.4L (144 cubic-inch) VEGE inline-four ships with its timing cover already fitted, built to restore a tired four-cylinder rather than chase more power. Build notes The oil pump used here includes a balance shaft, and the reconditioned cylinder heads carry the OE casting number RAA, both details worth checking against your current engine before ordering. A water pump arrives mounted too, with a new oil pump and gasket set included; the oil pan, valve covers, intake manifold, and ignition parts are not part of the sale. Fitment This four-cylinder turns up mostly in sedans and fleet vehicles built around fuel efficiency, so confirm the OE head casting matches your application before ordering rather than assuming a generic fit. Professional installation plus a proper break-in once it's in the car are both worth planning for, and keep the early oil changes on schedule to protect the rebuilt internals. Common questions Is the timing cover included? Yes, unlike several other long blocks in this range, it ships already fitted here. What's the head casting number? RAA, worth confirming against your vehicle's original engine before you order. Does the balance shaft need anything special? It's built into the oil pump as supplied; no separate part is needed. Is the block itself new? No, it is remanufactured and precision-machined back to factory tolerances rather than cast new.
