About this product

TREMEC's TUET11009 is the GM LS version of the T56 Magnum, a 6-speed built on the TR-6060 architecture found in several factory supercars and adapted here for LS-swapped Camaros, Chevelles, Novas, Corvettes, El Caminos, C10s, Bel Airs, Impalas, Firebirds, and GTOs. It is rated for 700 lb-ft of torque, with a 2.66 first gear for strong launches; fifth drops to 0.80 and sixth further to 0.63, the Magnum's two-step overdrive for relaxed highway revs. Built for LS swaps Premium multi-cone synchronizers, high-strength alloy steel gears and shafts, and a hydraulic clutch release are sized for LS1, LS2, LS3, LS6, and 5.3 and 6.0-liter LS truck engine swaps, with shifts rated to 7,800 rpm. Multiple shifter mounting locations give flexibility in tight engine bays, and both mechanical and electronic speedometer outputs are provided. Shaft sizes, fluid, and what is extra Dry weight runs about 135 lbs, with 26 splines up front and 31 out back. TREMEC lists HP-MTF as the primary fluid, with Dexron III or a Mobil 1 synthetic ATF as accepted alternatives, at around 3.66 quarts total. A bellhousing, shifter, and slip yoke are not included; the front bearing retainer, shift rail assembly, and internal shift components ship with the case, along with installation documentation. Will this bolt to any LS engine? It is built for Gen III and Gen IV LS engines across the listed displacements, but still needs an LS-compatible bellhousing and hydraulic release bearing to complete the swap. Does this transmission carry a warranty? TREMEC's coverage runs one year from purchase, protecting against factory defects, with warranty service handled directly through TREMEC.
