About this product

Pete and Jake's Newstalgia kit 5049 bundles a complete front suspension for hot rod, street rod and Gasser-style builds around a parallel leaf spring axle, available with either a 3-inch drop or a straight tube. Picking the right width and spindle The axle comes in two king-pin-to-king-pin widths, 42 inches or 49 inches, so measure your chassis before ordering rather than assuming one size fits every build. Steering runs through Super Bell spindles, bushed and fitted with king pins, made from ductile iron and finished in black powdercoat. Braking and other included hardware Stopping power comes from a power-assist disc setup with vented, solid-surface rotors and single-piston cast-iron calipers finished in natural color; brake pads are not part of the kit. A pitman arm, idler arm, center link, tie rod ends (inner and outer), tie rod sleeves, king pins and bearings, and monotube shocks are all included, along with mounting hardware. A crossmember is not included, so plan for that separately. What installing it involves Welding is required to put this kit together, so plan on a shop with fabrication capability or budget for that labor; this is not a bolt-together kit. It ships as one complete kit rather than loose parts. Does it include a crossmember? No, that is not part of this kit. Do I need to weld anything? Yes, welding is required for assembly. Are brake pads included? No, the disc hardware is included but pads are not. What axle widths are offered? 42 inches and 49 inches, king pin to king pin. Specifications Feature Details MFG.
