Mercury 200HP XL FourStroke Outboard

The 200HP XL FourStroke runs remote mechanical steering, in Mercury's standard finish, on the 25 inch shaft this lineup calls "extra-long." Transom fit Shaft fit is the detail to get right before ordering; picking the wrong one throws off both handling and fuel burn. Standard equipment runs to electronic fuel injection and power trim and tilt, with dry weight listed at 475 lbs. Controls and what ships with it Throttle and shift here run on remote mechanical controls, sold apart from the powerhead, rather than an electronic system. Mercury ships a tool kit, mounting hardware, and an owner's manual with every unit; the propeller is a separate purchase. Before you place the order Budget separately for the cables, control box, and gauges a remote mechanical install needs, since none of that rigging hardware comes with the powerhead itself. A proper break-in period, following the schedule in the owner's manual, helps any new outboard settle in before sustained hard running. Hold onto that manual afterward for service intervals once the motor is in regular use, and note the hours as they add up. Can this XL be ordered with DTS? Yes, electronic throttle and shift on this same XL powerhead are offered under a separate listing, worth comparing before you decide between the two control types. What warranty applies? Being new, this motor comes with Mercury's 3-year warranty term.
