About this product

This used Mercury 150L Pro XS is a performance-tuned, 150 HP inline four-cylinder outboard with a 20-inch shaft and electric start, built around the same 3.0-liter SOHC family as Mercury's other 150 HP engines but tuned to run higher, 5200 to 6000 RPM at full throttle. A steeper 2.08:1 gearcase and a CARB star rating of 3 set it apart from the standard 150L on the same shaft length. What's different about Pro XS tuning Mercury's performance-tuned scroll intake manifold and a SmartCraft ECM07 ignition module are built for the higher RPM range this engine is tuned to reach, and the steeper gearcase ratio trades some low-end pull for faster acceleration. Multi-port electronic fuel injection and SmartCraft Engine Guardian monitoring carry over from the rest of Mercury's 150 HP FourStroke lineup. Coverage and buying notes Total coverage reaches five years too, pairing Mercury's three-year base warranty with a two-year Product Protection Gold extension. Because this is a used engine, ask about recorded hours and service history, and note that mechanical throttle and shift controls are sold separately rather than bundled with the motor. How is Pro XS different from the standard 150L? It runs a higher RPM range and a steeper 2.08:1 gearcase for quicker acceleration. Are controls included? No, mechanical throttle and shift controls are sold separately.
