Hughes Performance Automatic Transmissions 28-3-69B2A

The Hughes Performance 28-3-69B2A is an automatic transmission sold individually as a complete unit rather than a kit of parts, built by Hughes Performance for drivers moving beyond a stock gearbox. Because gear count, torque rating, and internal components are not broken out for this particular case, the notes below focus on what to verify before committing to any performance automatic swap. What to confirm before ordering Automatic transmissions are not interchangeable across engine families, so start with your bellhousing bolt pattern and transmission case style. From there, check whether your current torque converter, flexplate, cooler lines, and shift linkage will carry over, since a performance unit can need different mounting hardware even when the case looks similar to a stock replacement. Fitting it into a build A performance automatic transmission is usually paired with a matched torque converter and, for serious use, a cooler to manage heat under load. If you plan to drive the vehicle hard, budget for a cooler and a compatible shifter at the same time, rather than treating the transmission as a drop-in replacement on its own. Because it ships as a standalone unit, mounting hardware, a dipstick, and fluid are also worth checking against your existing setup. Does this come with a torque converter or cooler? Confirm exact inclusions with us before ordering, since automatic transmissions are frequently sold as the case and internals alone, with converter, cooler, and controller sold separately.
