About this product

This Standard Edition combo takes BluePrint's familiar Chevy small-block, 436 horsepower and 443 pound-feet on 10.0:1 compression, and bolts it to a 700R4 automatic transmission with a polished front accessory drive, sold together as one matched package. Engine and carburetion A weighted 8-inch harmonic balancer spins at the front of a cast steel crank, 3.750-inch stroke, 5.700-inch rods, and hypereutectic pistons. The H8002K aluminum heads here carry a 0.500-inch raised port over the factory design, fed by a 750-cfm carburetor on a dual-plane intake and sparked through a distributor. Polished billet hardware handles the compressor and power-steering mounts. Transmission package Expect a torque converter stalling in the 2,200-2,400 rpm range, a one-piece flexplate, and a starter inside the 700R4 box; because tire and rear-gear combinations vary so widely from one build to the next, BluePrint leaves the speedometer gear and sender housing for the builder to match on their own. Fits Chevrolet applications from 1967 through 2002. Not designed for EGR compatibility; BluePrint recommends its own BPP710 oil with 91-octane fuel. Is this engine and transmission sold separately? No, BluePrint matches them as one package, so the torque converter and flexplate are already sized for this combination. A builder would still need to source their own driveshaft to finish the install.
