About this product

This kit uses Gen II's standard-length housing rather than Bert's shorter case, sized to match a traditional Muncie transmission so it drops into mounts already built for that length. Fitment covers small block Chevrolet powerplants running a 1-piece seal at the rear main, and torque capacity holds at the same 600 lb-ft figure as Bert's other Gen II gearboxes. Why the extra length can matter If your chassis already has mounting points sized for a Muncie-length transmission, this standard-length Gen II drops in without new fabrication, unlike the short-case version that needs its own mounting setup. The same high-gear design applies here too: first and reverse disengage fully once you're in gear, cutting rotating weight for IMCA, Wissota, and Midwest Modified classes. What comes in the kit Mounting hardware, a bolt kit, and the matching seal-specific drive flange round out the included steel bellhousing, and Bert throws in a stand meant for bench storage or servicing between races. Fluid and a braided line with an AN fitting are both part of the package too, though a driveshaft, slip yoke, and shift linkage are left for you to source on your own. Common questions Does this match Muncie dimensions? Yes, that's the point of the standard-length case over Bert's shorter one. Street or race only? Built for competition use only. Materials and workmanship are covered under a 1-year limited warranty, so long as the transmission sees normal racing duty.
